About Us

  I founded the Adler Group in late 2010 to focus solely on domestic issues. Prior to forming Adler Group, I was a member of Talus Group from 2008 until 2010, a firm that conducts investigations and consulting, primarily in the international arena.   For 21 years I was a Special Agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Initially in Dallas, Texas from 1987 to 1990, I worked Counterterrorism and Counterintelligence investigative matters. In 1990, I moved to the Fort Worth Resident Agency and worked Violent Crimes for four years. During my time in Dallas, I was also on the SWAT team.  In 1994, I competed for and was selected as an operator on the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team (HRT), the U.S. Government’s non-Department of Defense full-time counterterrorist tactical unit, located in Quantico, Virginia. For my last year at HRT, I was the team’s liaison to the Crisis (Hostage) Negotiations Unit (CNU). In 2001, just prior to 9/11, I transferred to Portland, Oregon, where I worked Counterterrorism matters and was one of the leaders of the SWAT team. During January through March of 2004, I returned temporarily to HRT and deployed for a special operations tour in Iraq working closely with the U.S. military’s Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). At the end of March 2008, I retired from the FBI.   I am very proud to have served 8 years as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) before I entered the FBI. In 1977, I graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a Bachelor of Arts in Business.
